Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel
Description of the Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel:
"General:
Dental Plaque is formed by bacterial byproducts in the mouth and induces bad breath, tartar and inflammation of the gums. If untreated it can lead to periodontitis and early tooth loss.
How does Orozyme work? The Peroxidase-System - an enzyme complex of the saliva - helps to maintain the natural balance of microorganisms in the mouth. As the effectiveness of this system depends on the degree of salivation and this is in turn influenced by the overall state of health, the feeding and the age, it is useful to give the Peroxidase-System as a supplement.
Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel contains an surface active agent which is ensuring a sufficiently long contact of the Orozyme with the teeth and the gums. The enzyme complex infiltrates plaque and thus destroys the basis of bacterial growth. This process supports the deterioration of existing plaque and prevents further plaque formation. In addition, plaque will be removed mechanically via mild polishing agents which are contained in the gel and with the help of the saliva and the dog's tongue.

Areas of application: or the daily care of teeth
Ingredients:
Patented LPO-compley; Amylase, Glucoamylse, Glucose oxidase,
Lactoperoxidase, Superoxid-Dismutase (SOD), Potassium Thiocyanat, Lysozyme,
Lactoferrin, mild polishing Components, nonionic Surfactant, Flavourings.
Application recommendations: Once daily or in combination with the Orozyme Chew Strips - use 3 times a week.
Dogs - give directly into the mouth
Cats - give directly into the mouth or put some onto the paw to lick off
small Dogs and Cats - 1cm Gel
Dogs less than 20kg - 2cm Gel
Dogs over 20kg - 5cm Gel
An attachment is enclosed in the package which eases the administration to Cats and small Dogs.
BRUSHING IS NOT REQUIRED. If necessary, the dog's teeth should be treated from a vetenarian first.
Storage: Store in a cool and dry place!"

Review: I am using the Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel for a few months now and I am quite satisfied with the product. I brush Rocky's teeth daily in the evening and give a tiny amount of the Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel into each of his chaps. In the beginning I tried using the enclosed attachement which Rocky however did not like at all and since then I always put a tiny amount on my finger and give it to Rocky which does not bother him.
Before using the Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel Rocky did have quite a few dark areas of plaque, especially on his back teeth. Since using the Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel for some months these areas became considerably less. Especially in combination with natural chews which are harder in consistency (such as venison sinews), the Orozyme Oral Hygiene Gel works very well. Even though the dark areas of plaque have not vanished 100%, I am yet still very happy about the results so far.
Overall, I am very satisfied. It not only removed some of the dark areas of plaque, but also does not bother Rocky at all which makes it an ideal oral hygiene product for Rocky.
