"Curli is a Swiss-based company that was born in 2010. The founder – Mark Zimmermann, from the Wallis Canton and his partners Alain De Bernardi from the Bern Canton and Roland Primus from the Graubünden Canton – are the brains behind curli. However, it was Mark’s dog Kylie that provided the initial inspiration for the company. Mark realized that there was a gap in the market for high-quality dog products that could perform under the most testing circumstances.

Mark and Roland both have a background in outdoor pursuits and winter sports - it is this experience, combined with a love of snowboarding and mountaineering that brought them together in 1993. Alain has a background in International business and has lived in the USA since 1995. Mark is responsible for the design orientation of the products and operations at curli. Alain is responsible for the North- and South American Market and supports Mark for the design orientation of the products. Roland will look after the strategy and the process-oriented benefits surrounding them.

As a team, they have an all or nothing approach – the products must support the claims they make – after all, when you are alone on the mountain, trust in your kit is paramount. It is this trust and reliance that sets curli products apart.

FUNCTIONALITY

The task that these products have to fulfil is paramount in curli's eyes. The main purpose of curli products is to deepen the trust and subsequent relationship between human and pet. All of their products have this special relationship at the forefront. This need for trust and reliability is vital when pursuing outdoor activities. The material and structure of our products is always tailored to the animal and thus provides assurance that we have the pet’s best interested at heart.

Review: I am very amazed by the curli harness. Especially the Softshell harness which is wind and water repellent as this is great for Rocky. Rocky suffers from a thyroid insufficientcy and therefore has sometimes very thin fur. The wind and water repellent harness is thus perfectly suitbale for him and keeps him dry for longer in rain.
In addition, I think the fit of the harness is great. It fits Rocky's body perfectly and he wears it without any problems.
A great feature is the DogFinderID which is enclosed in the harness free of charge. One can register the individual DogFinderID and leave the dog's data on there. Thus, one can find the dog should it ever run away. For me, it does not replace a seperate dog tag but I think it's good to be extra secured.
Rocky also likes to wear the harness. He does not like it when a harness has to be pulled over his head, therefore he seems to prefer wearing the curli vest harness because he simply has to step in it.
  

      

      

curli Basic Leash
    

Description of the curli Basic Leash: "Unfortunately, we often have to put our dogs on the leash. Therefore, curli wanted to make a virtue out of necessity and developed the Basic leash. In everyday life, they realized what is required of a leash. And most importantly, what features are needed to meet those demands. The curli leash is made of nylon and neoprene and features a padded hand strap – making it as diverse and useful as a pocket-knife.

The curli Basic Leash is available in 2 different sizes; (140cm x 1.5cm) and L (140cm x 2cm). Whereby the snap hook of the both leash sizes are the same size.

Rocky with his curli Basic Leash:

Review: The Basic Leash by curli is of good quality. The length is just right for Rocky to walk him for example near the street. I think the integrated dog waste holder is a great idea and therefore a dog waste bag is always brought along with the leash. Also, I like the extra metal ring near the handle as therefore the leash can be carried across the body when the dog runs free.
The handle feels good to hold and the neoprene makes the handle soft and comfortable to hold.

Beschreibung der curli Verstellbare Leine Nylon: "It took a long time to find the right material for our lead, because we had a clear idea of the feel and weight we required, combined with the material being able to meet our safety requirements. In addition, the lead has to be able to be held comfortably in any position. We finally found the solution by using integrated „ Tube - Nylon“.

The fine weave that is exclusive to curli meets our requirements. In addition, the material is tear resistant and hardwearing. The lead comes with a Dog Waste Bag Dispenser and sports the highest quality eyelets and carabiner.

You will be hard pressed to find a better quality lead, with this level of detail, for sale anywhere.

Review: I am a fan of adjustable leashes anyway as I like it to have the possibilities of using different leash lenghts possibilities. Therefore, being flexible in my day-to-day life.
The leahs is of very high quality and at the moment in daily use. We therefore can only report positive things.
I also like again the integrated dog waste holder which I have not seen on other leashes so far.

 
 
curli "This dog needs space" Tag

"The yellow dog project" has become more and more popular in recent years and refers to the yellow tag on a dog or on the dog leash which shall signal that the dog needs space. Thus it shall show other dog owners that they may please do not allow their dog to run to the other dog. Therefore, this can mean that the dog is afraid, ill or in training, etc.

Review: I think it's a great idea that curli has made their own yellow tag so that dog owners can show other dog owners that their dog needs space and they don't want that other dogs get in contact with the own dog.
Unfortunately, the yellow dog project is here in England indeed known by a few dog owners, however many have never heard of it before and like to ignore such signals.
It would be great if it was more extensively known and would be more widely respected.
  

 
 
Overall review:
Overall, we are very amazed by the curli products. The harnesses are number 1 for us and it is the best harness that we owned so far.
All products are of high quality and great for everyday use.
Unfortunately, curli products are not well known in England as they are in Germany. I would wish that these would be available in local pet shops.
