Kong Products

Kong prodcuts

I got some Kong products today; the Kong Squiggles, the Kong Stuff'n Snacks, the Kong Stuff'n Easy Treat and the Kong ZoomGroom, and wanted to introduce them.

Kong Stuff'n Snacks and Easy Treat

The Kong Stuff'n products are products that can be used in Kongs which I have reviewed some time ago.
The Kong Stuff'n Snacks come in different varieties. There are Liver snacks and Peanut Butter snacks, as well as specific snacks for puppies and seniors. Alls these Snacks come in 2 different sizes to fit the different sized Kongs; size Small and Large.
The Kong Stuff'n Easy Treat comes in 6 different recipes; Pepperoni Recipe, Liver Recipe, Peanug Butter Recipe, Fresh Breath Recipe, Puppy Recipe and Senior Recipe. These Easy Treats can be easily sprayed into the Kong or other Kong products.
I will write a seperate post about these both products, including how exactly to use them and how Rocky liked them.

Kong Squiggles

The Kong Squiggles is an interactive dog toy which can stretch and squeak. It comes in 4 different characters: elephant, rabbit, donkey and monkey, of which Rocky got the monkey. I really like the toy as it is very colourful and I know Rocky likes squeaking toys.

So how did Rocky like the Kong Squiggles? I think the following pictures speak for themselves!

Rocky absolutely loved the Kong Squiggles!

The only criticism I have for this toy is that Rocky broke it within seconds. He ripped one of the seams which I can however easily fix again by stitching it back up.

Kong ZoomGroom

The Kong ZoomGroom is a plastic brush that can be used on your dog. It can be used to simply groom and massage your dog but also during baths in order to massage the shampoo into your dogs fur. The Kong ZoomGroom comes in 2 different colours; raspberry and boysenberry. It is also available for cats in purple.

How did Rocky like it? He first wanted to have a good sniff on it and didn't seem to mind me brushing/massaging him with it. I think it's a great product and can, unlike many other brushes, be easily cleaned due to being out of plastic.

Puppia Harnesses

I am going to review Rocky's 3 Puppia Harnesses, the Classic Puppia Soft Harness, the Puppia Diamond Soft Harness and the Puppia Diamond Jacket Harness.

Puppia Soft Harness - Black

This is the original form of the Puppia harness and the first Puppia I got for Rocky. It is made out of soft air-mesh so it's perfect for summer. The material is very soft and cushioned. The harness is also resting on the dogs shoulders and is therefore not putting any pressure on the dogs neck, which is why they are veterinarian recommended. I also really like the design as they simply look good. The original Puppia soft harness is available in 12 different colours; yellow, orange, red, pink, sky blue, navy, apple green, purple, beige, brown, camouflage and black, and is available in 6 different sizes; XS (tiny puppy) - XXL (Labrador size). So there is a Puppia harness for everyone!

Puppia Diamond Harness - Brown

The Diamond harness is harness for the colder days. It is waterproof and it has soft plush fur inside, which keeps Rocky extra warm. Therefore, this is the harness we mostly use during autumn and winter as it is simply too warm for summer. This harness is, like all the other Puppia harnesses, veterinarian recommended as it is resting on the dogs shoulders rather than the dogs neck. The Puppia Diamond harness is available in 4 different colours; pink, red, brown and black, and is available in 3 different sizes; S - L. This is one of my favourite harnesses and I absolutely love it as it looks really cute on Rocky.

Puppia Diamond Jacket Harness - brown

The Puppia Diamond Jacket Harness is a brilliant harness. It got everything the normal Diamond Soft Harness has, i.e. being waterproof and having soft plush fur inside. It is also, like all the other Puppia harnesses veterinarian recommended as it is resting on a dogs shoulders rather than on a dogs neck. This is our winter harness as it keeps Rocky nice and warm and would be too warm for summer. Like the Diamond Soft Harness, the Diamond Jacket Harness is available in 4 colours; pink, red, brown and black, and is available in 3 different sizes; S-L. This harness is especially good for dogs that don't like having a harness put over their head as it functions like a step-in harness. I am really happy with it and it fits Rocky perfectly.

Hurtta Pro Wintercoat

Hurtta Pro Wintercoat

As I am very happy with the Hurtta Pro Wintercoat I got for Rocky, I thought I should take the time to review it!
For me this is one of the best wintercoats for dogs that are available on the market at the moment and I am simply loving it. It is not only practical, but also looks really good and I love the overall design.
The coat is warm, wind-/ water resistant and has reflective elements to be seen in the dark. Thus, it's perfect for cold/rainy days.
The coat also has a fur lining around the neck, so the neck area is kept nice and warm. Also the girth strap is, especially for males, at the perfect place as you can tighten the coat around the belly just enough for males not to pee on the coat.
Furthermore, the coat has leg straps so that the coat sits nice and tight around the back and leg area in order to keep those parts especially warm.
The coat is available in loads of different sizes so for every breed and size of dog there is the perfect fitting wintercoat.
The only negative aspect about the coat is that there is no lead hole in the back so a harness could be worn underneath and there is also no ring on the coat to attach a lead to. However, the overall good quality overcomes this negative aspect and it is possible for the dog to wear a harness over the coat.

How does Rocky like the Hurtta Pro Wintercoat? Rocky first didn't really like wearing it, especially the leg straps. However, with a handfull of treats I quickly got him used to walking around with the coat. So dogs who are not used to wearing any clothes should slowly get used to wearing it, which shouldn't be too difficult using some treats.

Here are some picture of Rocky wearing the Hurtta Pro Wintercoat:

And one picture showing Rocky wearing a harness over the wintercoat:

And when worn outside:

I would recommend this coat to everyone who thinks about getting a coat for their dog. For me there is only one dog coat; the Hurtta Pro Wintercoat.

Kong

Kong Size S

I really like the Kong as it keeps your dog busy for a long time. You can fill the Kong with everything you want. You can be as creative as you would like to be. I usually fill it with e.g. mushed bananas, natural yoghurt, cheese, liver sausage pate, wetfood, etc. You can also mix things up or fill it in layers. Very often I am simply filling Rockys wetfood in the Kong as it seems to taste a whole lot better out of the Kong than out of his bowl. There are also specially designed treats that you can fill in the Kong which I however have not tried yet.

How does Rocky like the Kong? He loves it and gets very excited once I take it out.

Trixie Labyrinth Snackball

Trixie Labyrinth Snackball

Rocky loves his snackball and he will be rolling it around the flat for a long time. Inside the ball is a kind of labyrinth in order for the treats to only randomly fall out. Thus, it will keep him busy for longer. I love the snackball and we are using it very often. And Rocky seems to love it as well. You can fill all kinds of treats it. I usually use the Rinti Mini-Bits and Yummeez. I will break them in half and stuff them into the ball. Works really well and makes it more exciting for Rocky as not only one variety of treats is in there.

IQ toy

IQ toy

I find IQ toys for dogs very interesting and thus, I  got one for Rocky. However, the most difficult part is only the first time, once they found out how to get the treats it's borring as they will immediately get them in seconds. I am still using it some times but the first "having to think about it" effect is definitely gone. Rocky however still gets very excited when I bring out the IQ toy.
