"In 1891, Tretorn was founded by Johan Dunker in Helsingborg, Sweden, setting
the stage for one of the most enduring success stories born from the
late industrial revolution.
Soon after the company's beginning, Johan Dunker's son, Henry, is hired
at the age of 21 as the company’s only salesman to get the infant
company off the ground. Later, he inherits the company and builds the
company Tretorn, as we know it today.
Dunker’s company produces 39,000 pairs of galoshes in 1892. Just two years later, the number rises to 206,000.
1,000,000th rubber boot manufactured at Helsinborgs Gummifabriks AB on February 18, 1896.
Besides galoshes, many other items were manufactured in 1902 such as hoses, bicycle pedals, and balls.
To his “extended family” of Tretorn employees, which reaches 325 in 1911, Dunker offers free health care.

Care instructions: Wash the boots regularly with lukewarm soapy water. Avoid solvents and
scrubbing with a coarse brush. Allow to dry at room temperature and
avoid contact with heating radiators. Store the boots upright in a cool
dark place. For rubber surface care of the boots, we recommend silicon
oil or glycerine."

Review: I think the Tretorn Sofiero Rubber Boots are fantastic! They have a really nice fit around my feet as their shape allows a lot of freedom around the foot. Thus, there is enough space for wearing warm socks during winter. Also the profile of the outsole allows for the boots to have a better grip in the snow or in the mud which I find especially important when walking a dog. It is also nice that the boot shaft can be tightened via bootlaces and it is very generous of Tretorn to include a spare pair of bootlaces. Furthermore, next to many other rubber boots I have had, the Tretorn Sofiero Rubber Boots' upper is made out of very thick rubber which makes these rubber boots very sturdy and longlasting.
Even though I have the Tretorn Rubber Boots in black I also like the other colours; red, green, pink, and especially grey.
The delivery of the Tretorn Sofiero Rubber Boots was very fast considering they came all the way from Sweden!
Overall, I am more than happy with the Tretorn Sofiero Rubber Boots. They are very usable not only for rainy days, but also in the snow and mud. Thus, the Tretorn Sofiero Rubber Boots are great for walking your dog in all sorts of weather conditions while allowing you to keep grip. For me they are perfect Rubber Boots for dog owners!
